RFMOW V2 compatible with both KIV-7M and KIV-7HSB
Raven's RFMOW V2 is a positive control voice and data satellite orderwire system that provides point-to-point communication between Network Terminal operators and Network Control Terminal operators on the DSCS and WGS networks.
Designed for KIV-7M TRANSEC devices, RFMOW V2 is also backward compatible right out of the box with KIV-7HSB. It supports both the STE and STU secure telephones to provide secure voice functionality. It is ready today for operations within the DSCS and WGS systems.
The 41800-002 RFMOW V2 is a standard 19” rack mountable unit which provides a common point for connecting various hardware elements, signaling protocol converters, Secure Voice Unit, modem, and housing for a COMSEC device. The Unit contains signal switching and level conversion printed circuit boards, and power supply. The Unit will support the Network Terminal (NT) configuration.
Front panel indicator lights display the operational status of each internal modular component, current data path that interfaces with J2 (the modem data connection), control path that interfaces with the modem and/or other equipments, and the power supply.
V2 can also be configured as an Interface Unit. In this mode, the KIV-7M can be used in the legacy RFMOW systems.
Note: The KIV-7 is not included within the Unit. The COMSEC device must be manually installed by the user prior to system operation.
INTERFACE UNIT compatible with KIV-7HSB
The Interface Unit is used in the Replacement Frequency Modulated Orderwire (RFMOW). The 41700-777 IU is a standard 19" rack mountable unit which provides a common point for connecting various hardware elements, signaling protocol converters, Secure Voice Unit, modem(s), and housing for a COMSEC device. The IU contains signal switching and level conversion printed circuit boards, and power supply. The Unit will support a Network Terminal (NT) configuration or a Network Control Terminal (NCT) configuration, selected by a rear panel switch.
The interface unit (IU) is compatible with the Secure Terminal Unit (STU III) and Secure Terminal Equipment (STE); SDM-100 and SDM-300 Modems; CV 3654/G and CV4250/G Converters; KIV-7, KIV-7HS and KIV-7HSB Communication Security Modules; Multi Com Port compatible computer system. The 41700-777 provides basic switching capabilities for voice and data within DSCS orderwire systems. If you require more control of your orderwire resources or compatibility with KIV-7M then consider RFMOW-V2. RFMOW-V2 is drop-and-insert compatible with the 41700-777 Interface Unit.
